Marquis

Marquis Brookins is a former Division I track and field athlete at UC who is committed to improving the well-being of others. With 8 years of experience as a certified personal trainer, he specializes in strength and conditioning and overall fitness. He also has extensive experience working with youth clients on speed and agility training for various sports. He is a Cincinnati firefighter and a wellness coach for Mental Health America and Northkey of Northern Kentucky. His outgoing personality will keep you motivated and his caring nature will help you through any bumps in the way of living your best life.
 

Steven

Steven Wyant has always loved activity, leading to his appreciation for fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Growing up playing sports and working for the Cincinnati Reds, he learned valuable lessons about staying active. In college, after shattering his kneecap playing soccer, he understood the importance of general fitness for recovery and long-term health. Moving to Northern Kentucky in 2003, Steven trained for a marathon with friends, aiming to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Despite a heart condition and surgery in 2016, he achieved this goal. Now, Steven focuses on supporting the fitness goals of the clients of GYMGUYZ Cincinnati and NKY. Here is an article about this journey.

Alex

Chose to study exercise science at Xavier University due to my passion for fitness and athletics. Hold my certified personal trainer licesne through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Chose a career teaching strength and endurance to help people reach their goals. As a personal trainer, I focus on teaching proper exercise techniques and promoting healthy lifestyle choices. My commitment to learning the most effective ways to support people in their fitness journeys drives my ongoing dedication to the field, helping clients build determination and confidence along the way.

Eric

Eric is an ISSA trained Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. Through his own weight loss journey, Eric found a passion for fitness and overall wellness— especially strength and conditioning training. His results-oriented mindset helps drive individuals to meet their personal goals, and his positive and supportive attitude encourages people of all fitness levels to explore ways of improving their mobility, strength, and overall quality of life.

Key

Key Hallums is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer who underwent her own weight loss/toning journey and attracted customers based on results. As a behavioral health professional and foster parent, Key is committed to helping individuals become the best version of themselves in all areas . She is passionate about working with PEOPLE of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life.

Elly Salazar

Elizabeth, or Elly, was born to Venezuelan immigrant parents and Elizabeth learned the values of education, healthy living and perseverance early on. She made history as the first in her family to earn a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology from Xavier University.
She is a personal trainer and soccer coach, dedicated to empowering others through fitness. She has also worked as a behavior technician for individuals with developmental disabilities, blending her love for health with a commitment to service. She loves all forms of fitness, but her favorite activity is Zumba type of workouts and strength training.

Shanda Gannt

Shanda is a dedicated personal trainer from Cincinnati, OH, who earned her certification in 2020. A proud mother, she is passionate about empowering others to achieve their fitness goals and feel their best. With a focus on holistic wellness, Shanda combines her expertise with a supportive approach, helping clients build confidence and strength in their journeys. She is one of our most motivational trainers and bring the FUN to workouts. She has also worked as a flexologist and helps train our trainers in her techniques.

Krissy Bruewer

Krissy’s personal training journey took a bit of a different path. She started out graduating with a BS in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Reading Education. She found that teaching in the schools was not for her, but she did have a desire to still teach. She was an in-home nanny for several years before deciding she wanted to have children. Now she cares for hers and her husband’s two boys (8 and 6).

She developed her passion for helping others achieve their fitness and health goals while she was a member at Orangetheory Fitness. During her time working with the coaches at OTF, she did several 5Ks and half-marathons in the Greater Cincinnati Area. She also volunteered her time with several mothers that were part of a local special needs family group called PAUSE. She did weekly training sessions and monthly challenges with them.

She is currently working with a strength and conditioning specialist to improve her back strength. She had scoliosis and had two 18” titanium rods surgically attached to her spine (T3-L2) at the age of 24 and over time they have decreased her overall mobility and back health. She is well versed in adapting to the needs of her clients because she has to be constantly cognizant of what she needs to adapt on a daily basis.

Joe Selvidge

Joseph is a dedicated and enthusiastic Personal Trainer with over a decade of experience in the fitness industry, shaped significantly by his ten years of distinguished military service. His unique background provides him with a disciplined approach to fitness, emphasizing not only physical strength but also mental resilience and a steadfast commitment to personal growth.

After serving his country, Joseph discovered his true passion lay in empowering individuals to achieve their fitness goals. This realization propelled him into a career as a Personal Trainer, where he combines his military discipline with an infectious energy that motivates clients to push beyond their limits. Through his dynamic training methods, he inspires individuals from all walks of life to take charge of their health and embark on transformative journeys.

Jerry Strange

Jerry Strange is a dedicated personal trainer and NPC physique competitor with over a decade of experience in fitness and strength training. Jerry combines a strong foundation in science with a passion for helping others achieve their goals. Specializing in tailoring programs for clients of all levels, Jerry leverages his extensive knowledge and personal experience as a competitor to deliver results-driven, customized fitness plans. His journey in fitness began in 2009, and since then, he has not only transformed his own physique but also empowered countless clients to become stronger, healthier, and more confident versions of themselves.
